Always stop at this place on the way to jasper. Great breakfast and friendly staff. The decor could use a little updating.

Resturant is old and worn. I looked out the window at garbage that looked like it had been there awhile. Should have more pride in appearance. Chair seats were worn/ripped and uncomfortable.
Mushroom and bacon omlette had so many mushrooms it is disgusting. Hashbrowns were overcooked. Going stick with pancakes next time. -

I always stop at this Smitty's for all-day breakfast on road trips to Jasper from Edmonton and back. Perfect location right on the highway. Service could be a bit more warm and attentive, but everything else is great.

The food was good for its kind of restaurant but the service was pretty below average considering that the waitress has been working there for 2 years. I ordered the steak and eggs ( which comes with a piece of steak, 3eggs, bread, hash browns ). Being quite particular with what I have with my steak, I asked to substitute the hash browns with mashed potato with gravy and had my eggs poached medium. The waitress told me that she wasn't sure if they could do mashed potato. So, I made it clear to her to come back to me if it wasn't available so I could choose something else. Took her 10 minutes to tell me that the kitchen realised that they are out of it (it wasn't busy as there were 2-3 other waitresses standing around seemingly nothing to do while chit chatting away at some point). When the food came, out of my 3eggs, only one was poached medium and the other two was poached hard. Even my companion's eggs weren't done consistently (ordered poached soft), 2 were poached medium & one was poached soft.The lack of consistency in the quality of the food and service was rather disappointing.
